Aikido is a form of Japanese Budo, a way of study including both physical and mental training. The word Aikido can be loosely translated as "the way (do) of harmony (ai) with nature or universal energy (ki)." We practice moving in harmony with others in our physical techniques to eventually create harmony in our daily relationships and communities. Learn more about Yoshokai-style Aikido, the Kobukan, and the History of Aikido.

Aikido Yoshokai of Minnesota (AYM) is affiliated with the Aikido Yoshokai Association of North America (AYANA). All Kobukan Dojo instructors are certified to teach Yoshokai-style Aikido by AYANA's Head Instructor Takashi Kushida-sensei, an 8th-degree black belt and master instructor with over 45 years of teaching experience.

Ways to support the Kobukan include gift certificates, GiveMN.org and the Kobukan Cookbook. Click here for more information!
